AP Cabinet has 13 new faces, Buggana retains finance, Amar gets industries

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has selected 14 new faces while retaining 11 from the outgoing ministry.

Vijayawada/Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has selected 14 new faces while retaining 11 from the outgoing ministry. After the swearing in of new Ministers at Velagapudi by Governor Biswa Bhsushan Harichandan on Monday, the Chief Minister continued the finance portfolio with Buggana Rajendranath while allotting key IT and Industries to first-time MLA from Anakapalle Gudivada Amarnath.

Five Deputy Chief Minister posts, which were created when Reddy first assumed charge as the Chief Minister in June, 2019, continue in Jagan Ministry 2.0. Two of the Deputy CMs Narayana Swamy and Amzath Basha Shaik Bepari have retained the coveted posts. Botsa Satyanarayana, a powerful Minister in the erstwhile Cabinet, has been allotted education. Veteran politician and five-time MLA from Srikakulam Dharmana Prasada Rao has been allotted revenue portfolio, which he had handled during the Cabinet headed by late YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

Film actor-turned-politician RK Roja, who won as YSRCP MLA from Nagari (Chittoor) twice, and party official spokesman Ambati Ramesh from Sattenapalli have been inducted as Ministers.

Roja, who touched the feet of the Chief Minister to express her gratitude, said she is very excited to hold the coveted post and declared that she will strive hard for women empowerment. Rajendranath said as public servants they have been entrusted with a heavy task to serve the masses.

Amarnath said he will try to bring investments to Andhra Pradesh and strengthen the existing ecosystem across the State. Rambabu said all of them will work as a team to fulfil the promises made to the people at the time of elections.

Interesting facts on Jagan Cabinet 2.0

Out of the 5, four deputy CMs are from the SC/ST/BC and minority communities and Home is retained by a woman MLA Taneti Vanita. Interestingly, the previous and the current Minister, both belong to the SC community. Out of the 25 Ministers, one of them Appalaraju is a doctor. Three Ministers are PhD holders and five postgraduates. Nine Ministers are graduates. Two Ministers are engineers.
